A new Riverdale plot line isn't sitting well with fans of the CW series. There's no question that gay conversion therapy is cruel, damaging, and, obviously, completely and utterly ineffective.
Cheryl Blossom may have thought her slumber party on Riverdale was The Beguiled themed, but a couple other Gothic horror tales come to mind after Wednesday's episode. Even before her Uncle glided. Like oh wait, Cheryl is all of a sudden a magnificent artist who is secretly cheryl gay with Josie? I'm all for mainstream media discussing taboo topics such as rape and bisexuality but why are is Riverdale basically using Cheryl as a pawn?
It's just annoying. I used to find Cheryl's character so interesting and now I'm just like wtf is going on?. Riverdale went bold and answered Cheryl's coming out by sending her to conversion therapy. What does that mean for the show?. The latest episode of "Riverdale" seems to show character Cheryl Blossom being sent to conversion therapy, a harmful and discredited practice.
Will these revelations have repercussions going forward? It allowed all to bring such a important topic to television. An earlier version of this article stated that Cliff was set on fire. So, you never know what's going to happen. Or: he was wearing those wigs as his hair color had changed, and the Blossom family sudden associates the color red with power. While Madelaine Petsch had already confirmed Cheryl Blossom's bisexuality, it wasn't until last week's episode that the romance between Riverdale's resident bombshell and the rough-and-tumble Toni Topaz Vanessa Morgan began to bloom.
And it's just interesting, because you're getting to know the characters together, but he's the one who ends up writing it. Cheryl's coming-out story is one that I got so many responses to, saying [fans] have dealt with that too. In real life, Kevin and Cheryl are still trapped in cover-up hetero relationships and still denying parts of themselves. Jason is certainly treated like the prized mare of the family at least what we know of him, pre-murderuntil he impregnates Polly Cooper and tries to run away to Greendale.
